About Estate Agents Council
The Estate Agents Council is a regulatory body formed by an ACT of Parliament; to provide for the registration of estate agents and the regulation of the practice of estate agents in Zimbabwe; to provide for the operation of the Estate Agents Compensation Fund; to regulate the keeping of money held by estate agents on behalf of other persons; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.123

Our History
The Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe is a statutory body originally set up in the 1970s to register and regulate the practice of Estate Agents in Zimbabwe in terms of Estate Agents Act Chapter 27:17. It came about as a realization that the practice of Estate Agency involving property selling and management required the services of professionally trained, experienced and registered realtors interfacing with the public.

Professional Qualifications
EACZ offers professional qualifications, namely:
The Council examinations are held twice a year, in April and October.
All subjects must be passed. Exemptions are also granted before the candidate becomes eligible for membership.
Requirements for Enrollment
- 1The minimum qualification is 'FIVE' subjects at GCE 'O' Level including ENGLISH and MATHEMATICS/ACCOUNTS with a 'C' or better symbol, plus a minimum of any points at two 'A' Level subjects.
- 2The Council may at its discretion approve an application for enrollment from a candidate with 'O' Levels including Maths and English on the basis of maturity.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
To keep members abreast with the changes in the industry and profession, EACZ conducts quarterly CPD training seminars. Members and students are encouraged to attend seminars and training workshops to gain CPD points.
